The EngAGE Research

The EngAGE programs are part of a research project funded by the Hunter New England Central Coast Primary Health Network.

The purpose of this research is to explore cost-effective and sustainable models of care to provide engaging programs to promoter successful ageing in adults aged over 65.

While a number of factors influence wellbeing into older age; exercise and social engagement are widely accepted as helpful. This project aims to increase our knowledge of how best to facilitate exercise and social programs to improve outcomes for older adults.

Information will be collected about the social, mental and physical wellbeing of participants as well as their perceptions of the program. A secondary aim of EngAGE is to provide authentic training for Master of Exercise Physiology students at the University of Newcastle.
